HOME CARE AND FURTHERANCE

The cradle of diocese home-care was the half-year pilot program, supported by Caritas Linz in 2001-2002. Thereafter on 1 of January 2003 the national home-care project began its operation with twelve employees within the framework supported by the European Caritas. The training and the preparation of the service, for the responsible and noble task, was aided by the Subotica Gerontology Center, the national Caritas, the European Caritas, the German Caritas and the Caritas of Linz. The service leaders have invested a lot of effort in their work to the home-care service to fulfill their commitment and to meet the expectations of users, sponsors and the profession. Since 2005 Subotica city also supports the work of the home-care service. From 2007 until 2009, the Caritas was financed by the European Union – helped by the intercession of the German Caritas. Between 2010 and 2012 the operation of the service was supported by the BMZ foundation of the German Federal Republic The town of Subotica saw the need of citizens therefore in 2009 and 2012 significantly increased its support to Caritas, and today the city provides the wages for eight of our employees’.
